Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of hands2handsmoving.com and the moving services provided by Hands 2 Hands Moving (“we,” “us,” “our”), a licensed North Carolina household-goods carrier based in Raleigh. By requesting a quote, booking a move, or using this website, you agree to the terms below.
Estimates and Booking
Estimates are prepared based on the information gathered during an in-home visit, video walkthrough, or phone consultation, and reflect our best assessment of the labor, crew size, truck space, and time your move will require. Local moves are generally billed on an hourly basis with a stated crew size and minimum; long-distance moves are billed by weight and distance. A binding written estimate or order for service will be provided before your move date. Actual charges may vary from a non-binding estimate if the scope of the move changes — for example, additional items, access issues not disclosed during the walkthrough, or a change in move date affecting crew availability.
Deposits and Payment
Some bookings require a deposit to hold a crew and truck for your scheduled date; deposit amounts and terms will be disclosed at booking. Final payment is due on completion of the move unless other arrangements have been made in writing. We accept standard payment methods disclosed at the time of booking.
Cancellations and Rescheduling
We understand that move dates shift — closings get delayed, leases overlap, plans change. Notify our office as soon as you know a date needs to move, and we’ll work to reschedule your crew without penalty for reasonable notice. Cancellations made with limited notice close to a scheduled move date may forfeit a deposit, since a crew and truck have already been held exclusively for your job and turned away other work.
Liability and Valuation Coverage
Under federal law, moving companies are required to offer at least two levels of liability protection for the household goods they transport. Unless you select and pay for additional valuation coverage in writing, your shipment is covered under released value protection, which limits our liability to 60 cents per pound per article for any item lost or damaged, regardless of the item’s actual value. We carry cargo insurance up to $1,000,000 and can discuss full-value or additional valuation coverage options at booking if you want protection closer to the replacement value of your belongings. Claims for loss or damage must be reported in writing within a reasonable time after your move, and we’ll work with you directly to resolve them — we don’t require you to pursue a separate carrier or third party.
Customer Responsibilities
You’re responsible for disclosing hazardous, illegal, perishable, or extremely high-value items (cash, jewelry, important documents) before move day, as we don’t transport these and can’t be responsible for them if undisclosed. You’re also responsible for providing reasonably accurate access information — stairs, elevators, parking restrictions, HOA move windows — during your estimate so we can staff the job correctly.
Our Responsibilities
We agree to provide trained, insured crews, appropriate equipment and protective materials at no extra charge for standard care, and to keep the same crew assigned to your job from load to unload wherever operationally possible. If a documented emergency requires a crew substitution, we’ll notify you before it happens rather than after the fact.
Website Use
Content on this site is provided for general informational purposes about our services and service areas. Pricing examples, timelines, and route information are estimates based on typical jobs and may not reflect your specific move. We may update site content, service areas, or these terms at any time without prior notice; continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
Limitation of Liability
Except as described under Liability and Valuation Coverage above, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from a move or from use of this website, to the extent permitted by North Carolina and federal law.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina and applicable federal motor carrier regulations. Any disputes will be handled in the courts of Wake County, North Carolina, unless otherwise required by law.
