Very nice movers who worked fast and were very helpful!
About Us
Why Marcus Whitfield built a moving company around never swapping crews mid-move.
Get my free estimateMarcus Whitfield spent nine years before this company scheduling loading docks and delivery routes for a High Point furniture wholesaler that shipped out of a distribution center here in the Triangle. His job was keeping the same two-man crews on every multi-stop delivery run, so nothing sat unaccounted for in a trailer overnight between stops. It’s a small habit for a furniture business, but Marcus noticed it was the one thing that made deliveries go right, and he built an entire moving company around it when he launched Hands 2 Hands Moving in 2013.
What actually pushed him to start the company was hearing the same complaint over and over from people who’d just moved to Raleigh: one crew wrapped their sofa and loaded the truck in the morning, and by evening a completely different crew carried it into the new place with a fresh dent nobody could explain. Nobody on either end could say what happened to their things in between. Marcus decided that if he ever ran his own trucks, that handoff wouldn’t exist.
Thirteen years and more than 6,500 moves later, that’s still the rule every job runs on. Julian Askew, our dispatch and route coordinator since 2019, builds each day’s schedule around I-40 and I-440 Beltline traffic specifically so a crew never gets pulled off a job to plug a gap somewhere else — the people assigned to your move stay assigned to your move. Priya Nandakumar handles in-home and video walkthrough estimates herself and stays the single point of contact all the way through move day, so you’re explaining your inventory once, to one person, not re-explaining it to whoever picks up the phone next.
On the trucks, Reggie Poteat has run the same four-man crew for six years and makes a point of being the last man off at the destination — the hands that wrapped a piece are the hands setting it back down. Camille Sturgis trains every new hire on dish-pack and crating technique before they’re allowed near a client’s china, and stays on full-pack jobs from the first taped box to the last one unloaded. Dante Broadnax drives our Charlotte, Richmond, and DC runs himself and rides the route with the crew through the unload, not just to the state line.
Marcus still rides along on moves out to Wake Forest and Fuquay-Varina a few times a month — partly to keep a hand in the work, partly because after thirteen years he still knows which light on Poole Rd backs up worst at 5pm. We’ve grown to cover local moves, long-distance runs, packing, storage, and commercial relocations across Wake County and the Research Triangle, but the one rule Marcus started with hasn’t moved: whoever loads your truck is who unloads it. No exceptions, no subcontractors, no strangers partway through.
What sets Hands 2 Hands Moving apart
The people who answer your first call are the same people lifting the last box off the truck — same faces, same truck, no handoff in between.
Same Crew, Both Ends
Reggie’s four-man crew rides with the truck door to door — the hands wrapping your dresser are the same hands setting it down at the new place, no relief crew waiting on the other end.
Our Trucks, Our People
Nobody on the truck is a name pulled off a staffing app — every mover is hired and trained by us, and answers to the same foreman Reggie’s crew has worked under for six years.
Licensed Across North Carolina
Active North Carolina household-goods carrier registration, insurance riding on every load, and a certificate of insurance to your Raleigh property manager or HOA the same day you ask for one.
We Route Around The Beltline
The I-440 slowdown at rush hour, the one-way grid downtown, a new-construction street out past Wendell where GPS still guesses — Julian maps around all of it before your crew ever leaves the yard.
Marcus Still Answers The Phone
Call the Poole Rd office and you get Marcus, Priya, or somebody who actually works here — never an overseas script. We hold the arrival window we quote, and rebooking your date never costs you a penalty.

Learn moreWhat your furniture goes through between here and there
Blankets go on before the hallway does
Camille’s crew wraps and shrink-films every dresser and cushion right where it’s sitting — nothing rides down your hallway or stairwell bare.
Door frames and floors get padded first
Runners go down and corner guards go up on every door jamb before the first box moves, so neither the exit nor the entrance picks up a scuff.
Furniture comes apart and goes back together
Bed frames, dining tables, and cribs get broken down for the ride and rebuilt at the new address — you’re not the one hunting for a hex key.
Glass and electronics ride in their own box
Mirrors, artwork, and anything with a screen get their own carton and corner protection — nothing fragile gets wedged behind the couch cushions to save space.
Straps and dollies carry the weight, not your back
Heavy pieces move on ramps and dollies with real tie-down straps, so nothing gets dragged across a floor or muscled up a stairwell by hand.
The crew that wraps the first box unloads the last one
There’s no relief shift and no new face after lunch — the same crew that started your move is the one setting the last box down.

I had best moving experience. Thank you
Movers were fast, efficient, and friendly.
Three steps. One crew the whole way.
Tell us where and when
Call or fill out the form with your two ZIP codes and a rough room count — that’s enough for Priya to put a number in writing the same day, no walkthrough required and no charge just for asking.
Your crew gets assigned
Once you lock in a date, Reggie’s crew and their truck go on the schedule under your name — the same four guys, start to finish. Need a certificate sent to a property manager first? We handle it before move day.
The same faces load and unload
Your crew shows up inside the window we gave you, wraps and pads what needs it, and rides the truck to the destination themselves — nobody new shows up on the other end.
Ready to put your move on the schedule?
The crew that answers your call is the crew standing in your driveway on move day — no substitutions, no subcontractor picking up the second half. Tell us where you’re headed and we’ll have a number back before the day’s out.
