Short & Long-Term Storage

Move timelines rarely line up perfectly. A lease in Cary might end two weeks before the new house closes, or a downsizing household might need furniture held for a few months while a smaller place gets finished. Either way, the gap between move-out and move-in is where a lot of moving companies quietly bring in a third party — a separate storage warehouse with its own staff who had nothing to do with your original move. We keep that gap in-house instead.

Items held in our storage go into our own facility on Poole Rd, the same site our crews operate out of, and the same team that loaded your things at pickup is the team that pulls them back out for delivery. That matters more than it sounds like it should: nobody’s re-inventorying a stranger’s boxes months later or guessing which crate has the fragile items based on a warehouse tag. It’s the same people who know how your things were packed in the first place.

We offer both short-term storage — a few weeks between move-out and move-in — and longer holds for households mid-renovation, mid-downsize, or waiting on a new build to finish. Furniture is padded and shrink-wrapped the same way it would be for a same-day delivery, and larger items are kept off the floor to avoid moisture issues, which matters in a Raleigh summer with the humidity our warehouse has to account for year-round.

Storage pairs naturally with almost any of our other services. Households doing a full pack can have items packed, held at Poole Rd, and delivered weeks later by the same crew. Downsizing households moving into a retirement community in Cary or Holly Springs sometimes need a portion of their belongings stored while the rest goes straight to the new place — we can split a single job that way without bringing in a second company.

Ask Priya about storage during your estimate if there’s any chance your dates won’t line up. It’s easier to plan for a storage gap upfront than to scramble for a solution the week before your lease ends.

Good questions

Questions Raleigh customers actually ask

Where is your storage facility located?

Our storage is held at our own facility on Poole Rd in Raleigh, the same location our moving crews operate out of, not a third-party warehouse.

How long can you store my belongings?

We offer both short-term storage, for a gap of a few days to a few weeks between move-out and move-in, and longer-term storage for households mid-renovation or waiting on a new home to close.

Will the same crew that picked up my items deliver them when storage ends?

In most cases, yes. Because storage is handled at our own facility by our own crews, the people who packed and picked up your items are typically the ones pulling them back out for delivery.

Is my furniture protected while it's in storage?

Yes, items are padded and shrink-wrapped the same way they would be for an immediate delivery, and larger pieces are kept off the floor to guard against humidity.

Can I store part of my move and have the rest delivered right away?

Yes, this is common for downsizing moves. Tell us during your walkthrough which items need to go straight to your new home and which need to be held, and we'll split the job accordingly.

Why Raleigh trusts this crew

What sets Hands 2 Hands Moving apart

The people who answer your first call are the same people lifting the last box off the truck — same faces, same truck, no handoff in between.

Same Crew, Both Ends

Reggie’s four-man crew rides with the truck door to door — the hands wrapping your dresser are the same hands setting it down at the new place, no relief crew waiting on the other end.

Our Trucks, Our People

Nobody on the truck is a name pulled off a staffing app — every mover is hired and trained by us, and answers to the same foreman Reggie’s crew has worked under for six years.

Licensed Across North Carolina

Active North Carolina household-goods carrier registration, insurance riding on every load, and a certificate of insurance to your Raleigh property manager or HOA the same day you ask for one.

We Route Around The Beltline

The I-440 slowdown at rush hour, the one-way grid downtown, a new-construction street out past Wendell where GPS still guesses — Julian maps around all of it before your crew ever leaves the yard.

Marcus Still Answers The Phone

Call the Poole Rd office and you get Marcus, Priya, or somebody who actually works here — never an overseas script. We hold the arrival window we quote, and rebooking your date never costs you a penalty.

Packed like it’s ours to keep

What your furniture goes through between here and there

Blankets go on before the hallway does

Camille’s crew wraps and shrink-films every dresser and cushion right where it’s sitting — nothing rides down your hallway or stairwell bare.

Door frames and floors get padded first

Runners go down and corner guards go up on every door jamb before the first box moves, so neither the exit nor the entrance picks up a scuff.

Furniture comes apart and goes back together

Bed frames, dining tables, and cribs get broken down for the ride and rebuilt at the new address — you’re not the one hunting for a hex key.

Glass and electronics ride in their own box

Mirrors, artwork, and anything with a screen get their own carton and corner protection — nothing fragile gets wedged behind the couch cushions to save space.

Straps and dollies carry the weight, not your back

Heavy pieces move on ramps and dollies with real tie-down straps, so nothing gets dragged across a floor or muscled up a stairwell by hand.

The crew that wraps the first box unloads the last one

There’s no relief shift and no new face after lunch — the same crew that started your move is the one setting the last box down.

How it works

Three steps. One crew the whole way.

01

Tell us where and when

Call or fill out the form with your two ZIP codes and a rough room count — that’s enough for Priya to put a number in writing the same day, no walkthrough required and no charge just for asking.

02

Your crew gets assigned

Once you lock in a date, Reggie’s crew and their truck go on the schedule under your name — the same four guys, start to finish. Need a certificate sent to a property manager first? We handle it before move day.

03

The same faces load and unload

Your crew shows up inside the window we gave you, wraps and pads what needs it, and rides the truck to the destination themselves — nobody new shows up on the other end.

Ready to put your move on the schedule?

The crew that answers your call is the crew standing in your driveway on move day — no substitutions, no subcontractor picking up the second half. Tell us where you’re headed and we’ll have a number back before the day’s out.
